A German manufacturer of engineered conveyor chains, drive chains and sprockets plans to establish a new production facility in eastern Alabama, state and company officials announced last month.

KettenWulf, which celebrated its centennial last year, provides engineered solutions for heavy industries including manufacturing, steel production, bulk material handling, mining and specialty applications. The company plans to invest $34 million in the Auburn, Alabama project; it expects to create about 70 jobs.

Alabama officials said that the company sees the project as the foundation for its future growth in the U.S. market.

“We are proud to have found our new home in Auburn to serve our customers across the Americas,” KettenWulf CEO Ansgar Wulf said in the announcement.
