Fuller also plans to expand its workforce at a 122,000-square-foot factory that opened last year in Northampton County. The firm employs about 200 workers across the Pennsylvania facility and headquarters.
Fuller Technologies spawned last year when Pacific Avenue Capital Partners purchased FLSmidth Cement, a division of Denmark's FLSmidth. The company has reorganized its holdings since the acquisition, including the decision to locate its global headquarters in the same location as FLSmidth Cement's U.S. headquarters.
The company will retain its extensive global footprint, including its ongoing commitment to locations in India and Denmark, where it recently opened new office locations. Globally, the firm employs nearly 2,000 employees, with plans to hire another 165 in the next year.
Fuller's Pennsylvania origins date back to 1857 as the McKee-Fuller Foundry Company. FLSmidth acquired Fuller in 1990.
The company makes the Fuller-Kinyon Pump, which uses air to push pulverized material through pipes. Invented by Alonzo Kinyon of the Fuller-Lehigh Company during World War I, the pump mixes powdered material like coal dust with air, allowing it to flow freely inside pipes without fear of explosion.
