Anduril and Qualcomm Technologies have unveiled BlueChip, a new product line they said is dedicated to rebuilding American computer manufacturing.

Beginning with a laptop designed and assembled in the United States, BlueChip will develop American-built computing hardware for industries including government, defense, first responders and public safety while rebuilding the suppliers, manufacturing processes and expertise needed to scale production.

San Diego-based Qualcomm Technologies will supply its Snapdragon X Series, providing the laptop’s core computing capabilities, including general-purpose processing, graphics and on-device AI.

Anduril has already developed functional prototypes of the first BlueChip laptop and plans to begin taking orders in 2027. The engineering effort includes designing the enclosure for U.S. machining, developing battery and power management systems to accommodate existing American battery technology, and selecting metals that U.S. industry can produce and machine at scale. Anduril is also developing a bonding process to incorporate U.S.-made display glass.

The companies said components sourced from U.S. and allied-country suppliers account for more than 90% of the BlueChip prototypes’ component procurement cost. Anduril is working to expand domestic component production ahead of planned availability in 2027, with the long-term goal of building a fully domestic supply chain.

BlueChip laptops will be manufactured in the United States, with circuit board assembly planned for Anduril's Arsenal-1 facility in Ohio. Anduril is developing domestic production capabilities for enclosures, battery components, and other hardware while qualifying suppliers and preparing for production.

BlueChip said it will take a phased approach, beginning with expanding domestic sourcing and manufacturing, progressing toward eliminating reliance on foreign suppliers, and ultimately establishing an end-to-end American supply chain. The designs, supplier relationships, and production processes developed for the first laptop will support additional BlueChip products, expanding America's ability to manufacture the computing hardware its industries depend on.
