Dallas Industries (Troy, MI) y has announced that Challenge Manufacturing of Walker, MI has taken delivery of a new Dallas Industries servo feed.

The servo feed is a DRFHDS-530 servo feed with pull through straightener. It is a cabinet mounted servo feed with a five roll pull thru straightener. The straightener has powered pinch rolls, air operated upper pinch roll and an automatic air clutch to disengage the pinch rolls when the feeder is in automatic mode. It is rated for 30" coil width x 0.170" thickness at full width and 12" x 0.250" maximum thickness at 12" wide.

The servo feed is built on an Allen-Bradley, Ethernet-based control architecture and feature ProfileSelect, a unique feed control system that is exclusively available through Dallas Industries. It uses a cam-motion (sinusoidal) profile. This smooth profile results in a feed motion that utilizes 100 percent of the press feed window, reducing stress on the material and the feed’s mechanical components.

Dallas Industries servo feeds are available in roll diameters from 3” to 8” and in widths from 6" to 78". The feeds can be equipped with a wide array of options including adjustable height cabinets and edge guides adjusted by hand crank or automated, anti back-up rolls and automatic lube systems, to name a few.

Challenge Manufacturing is an employee owned company that was founded in a garage in Walker, Michigan nore than 40 years ago. Starting with one machine, the company has grown tremendously over the past four decades employing over 3,000 team members.
