Saab, Inc. has selected Anduril Rocket Motor Systems as a supplier to design, develop, qualify, and eventually produce Solid Rocket Motors (SRM) in support of the Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB) system, delivered in partnership with Boeing.
Anduril is delivering a modern, high-performance replacement motor which will meet the existing performance and mass properties of the M26 MLRS solid rocket motor currently powering GLSDB. Leveraging an improved design optimized for safety and affordability, new sub-tier suppliers, and Anduril’s novel manufacturing technologies, Anduril brings capacity, enabling the delivery of GLSDB systems in larger quantities for customers.
Anduril has already started work to develop and qualify the system with plans to transition it to full rate production in 2026.
Anduril is investing $75 million of private capital for a facility expansion in McHenry, Mississippi to deliver critical technology to warfighters faster. Once the expansion is completed in July 2025, the facility seeks to bring additional capacity to the U.S. and allied industrial base, helping to close a critical gap in the supply of affordable rocket motors for long range systems.
Compounded with a recent $14.3M Defense Production Act award, Anduril is applying single-piece-flow manufacturing, bladeless high-speed mixer, and automation new to the SRM industry to produce and qualify these propulsion systems.
Most recently, Anduril Rocket Motors successfully completed a static test fire of its 21-inch hypersonic rocket motor for the U.S. Navy's STANDARD Missile Program.
