LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Endurance Technologies, a Canadian pipe manufacturing company, this week selected Las Cruces for its first U.S. facility. The move will create 43 new jobs at a new U.S. subsidiary, Endurance Technologies USA, and a projected $54.5 million economic impact on the state over the next ten years. Operations should come online by the end of 2026.

The company plans to invest $13.4 million in the first three years of operation, with total capital expenditures reaching $18.6 million. The average starting wage for employees will be $58,156 in the first year.

Endurance Technology President and CEO Jeff Pitura told Industrial Equipment News (IEN) that tariffs did not play a role in setting up the new U.S. base, as the expansion was part of the company's long-term strategic goals which were created well in advance of the current round of tariffs. Pitura said Endurance first considered establishing a U.S. subsidiary in Q1 2023.

This project is a significant expansion for the Calgary-based company, which has serviced the oil and gas industry for more than 30 years.

The new facility will allow Endurance to expand its U.S. footprint, increase production capacity, and better serve U.S.-based customers. The company expects the new facility to improve lead times and U.S. fulfillment.

Endurance Technologies will make boronized piping, primarily be for the oil industry working in the Permian Basin. Pitura described the parts as "production tubulars." He noted that the company's smaller furnaces can also make components for other industries, like agriculture, forestry, industrial and mining.

Endurance will operate at the City of Las Cruces’ Innovation & Industrial site, where the company has purchased and will renovate an existing 45,050-square-foot building situated on 15 acres.

According to a spokesperson from the New Mexico Economic Development Department, the state and local incentives, which are still pending finalization, will include a Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) incentive valued at $325,000 through the state, an Industrial Revenue Bond (IRB) with the city of Las Cruces for $17.6 million, and an incentive through the New Mexico’s job training program (JTIP).
