GM has announced more than $430 million in combined investments across two U.S. manufacturing sites, including an approximately $157 million investment in Wentzville Assembly in Missouri and $275 million across the Spring Hill manufacturing complex in Tennessee.
The $157 million Missouri investment is focused on paint and modernization work, including new paint processing equipment, an estimated 28,000-square-foot expansion and major refurbishment inside the existing paint shop. The investment is designed to help keep Wentzville modern and competitive over the long term.
Wentzville builds the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon midsize trucks alongside the Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana full-size vans, and the site has more than 4,000 employees.
At Spring Hill, investments include more than $150 million in Assembly to support the recently announced Cadillac XT6 and $125 million in GPS to support the future of the 2.7L engine program. Once the XT6 is added, Spring Hill Assembly will become a five-vehicle operation.
