Meller Optics, Inc. of Providence, RI has introduced custom-fabricated sapphire windows, lenses, and domes designed to withstand extreme environments. These components offer high performance in aerospace, military, and other demanding applications.
Meller Sapphire Windows are built to protect sensitive sensors and optics in systems exposed to harsh chemicals, high-speed particles, extreme temperatures, and intense pressures.

- Withstands temperatures up to 1,000°C and pressures up to 10,000 psi
- Mohs hardness of 9, second only to diamond
- High optical clarity across UV to IR spectrum (up to 85% transmission)
- A/R coatings available for enhanced transmission (>99%)
- Diameter range: 1/4" to 10"
- Thickness range: 0.5 mm to 1"
- Flatness: up to 0.5 fringes of HeNe
- Parallelism: 20 to 2 arc seconds
- Surface finishes from 60-40 to 40-20 scratch-dig
