Schaumburg, IL — Sumida Components GmbH will introduce its High Reliability (HR) SMT Chip Inductor Series at APEC 2026. The new inductors are available in 0402, 0603, and 0805 surface-mount packages.
Designed for use in demanding electronic environments, the series targets RF and power applications where long-term stability, mechanical robustness, and predictable electrical performance are essential. Compared to conventional SMT inductors, the new series offers extended temperature and 5g shock and vibration durability.
The HR SMT Chip Inductors are wire-wound on Sumida’s proprietary ceramic or ferrite core formulations, enabling high Q-factors and high self-resonant frequencies across a wide range of inductance values. Depending on package size, inductance ranges extend from 1.0 nH up to 4.7 µH, with tolerance options down to ±2%. Operating temperature ratings reach +150 °C for 0402 and 0603 packages and up to +180 °C for uncoated 0805 devices, supporting designs exposed to elevated thermal stress.
To accommodate space-constrained and high-density PCB layouts, the inductors are offered in compact footprints with well-defined dimensions: the 0402 package measures 1.11 × 0.64 × 0.53 mm, the 0603 measures 1.70 × 1.20 × 0.85 mm, and the 0805 measures 2.20 × 1.40 × 1.42 mm (L×W×H). These options allow engineers to balance board area, current handling, and high-frequency performance without compromising reliability.
Sumida supports the series with established high-reliability testing and inspection flows, including automotive, aerospace, and industrial qualification standards such as AEC-Q200, MIL-STD-202, MIL-STD-883, JESD, and ASTM E595. Multiple termination systems are available to align with assembly and reliability requirements. Additional customization options are offered on request.
