To adapt commercial tablets to industrial conditions, IDEC (Sunnyvale, CA) has just announced its release of the HT4P Safety Commander Industrial Tablet Holder. With an ergonomic design that enables users to securely hold and protect a human-machine interface (HMI) tablet, it also provides power, networking, hardwired emergency stop (e-stop) and other operator interface devices.

With the IDEC HTP4’s hand (or shoulder) strap, rugged construction with drop resistance of 1.2m, IP54 rated protection and a waterproof one-touch connector, it’s ideal for industrial environments. And because a single hand-held Safety Commander device can be safely carried and used in multiple locations on a production line, it could reduce the number of fixed control panels thus saving space and cost.

The IDEC HTP4 Safety Commander features wired LAN connection and mechanical switches. OEMs and automation designers can now provide flexible and safety-rated operator interface options for equipment, robotics, collaborative robots, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and other manufacturing system applications, through Switches Unlimited.

Applications include:

  • Industrial Equipment
  • Robotics
  • Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs)
  • Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs)
  • Manufacturing Systems

As a franchised distributor, Switches Unlimited supplies IDEC automation devices, safety and protection products, auto ID switches and other switches and indicators.
