Siemens Healthineers is significantly increasing its U.S. parts inventory and logistics capabilities with the opening of mega depots in Dayton, NJ (New York metro area) and Manteca, CA (Oakland metro area), increasing the availability of parts by nearly a third and offering unprecedented delivery flexibility to its customers.

Working with GXO, one of the world’s largest pure-play contract logistics providers, Siemens Healthineers is leasing new warehouse space in the two locations to supplement its existing depot in Memphis.

“Healthcare providers across the U.S. count on us and our parts network for the equipment they need to give their patients exceptional care,” said David Pacitti, president and head of the Americas at Siemens Healthineers. “Any disruption to the availability of parts and supplies can be disastrous for providers and patients. By partnering with GXO, our parts network will further safeguard customers from supply-chain uncertainty.”

Healthcare supply chains have been under pressure since before the pandemic due to increasing global demand for goods and transport. Severe weather and geopolitical uncertainties have added urgency to maintaining a stable supply chain of parts and agile logistical support. In addition to its new mega depots, which will help reduce environmental impact through efficient delivery, Siemens Healthineers also has a network of U.S. forward stocking locations close to its major customers.

“It’s an exciting time as we help Siemens Healthineers expand and speed up their parts network in the U.S. and strengthen this critical infrastructure,” said Jorge Guanter, president, Americas and Asia Pacific, GXO. “Healthcare providers depend on vital equipment being readily available for their patients. By working together, we will make more products accessible and ordering easier with faster delivery when medical supplies are needed across the U.S. without delay.”

GXO is currently providing warehousing and inventory management to Siemens Healthineers in New Jersey and plans to begin operations in California in early 2025.
