Custom millwork manufacturer Axos Designs announced the acquisition of a new 30,000-square-foot facility in Long Island City, New York.
The new factory, located just over the 59th Street Bridge in Manhattan, will join Axos’ nearby 10,000-square-foot plant. The company expects the development to quadruple millwork production capacity and mark the first step in a strategic vertical-growth initiative that looks to add metal fabrication in 2026.
Axos' anticipates the new site will nearly double its workforce of artisans, cabinet makers, installers and other employees. The company plans to invest heavily in equipping the space with machinery, vacuum-sealed spray booths, conference rooms, a showroom and artificial intelligence technology.
Axos Designs recently launched a vertical-integration effort to expand beyond wood fabrication into complementary trades, including metal, glass and stone. The company plans to pursue several acquisitions in new markets across the east coast in 2026 to create a unified, multi-material production ecosystem capable of delivering fully coordinated architectural elements under one roof.
The company expects the growth to give architects and designers the ability to source complex multi-material furnishings from a single vendor, shorten lead times and ensure consistent craftsmanship and finish standards across materials.
"Our core expertise in high-end millwork manufacturing is driving a 55% growth in revenues this year alone," Axos owner Chris Yerolemou said. "Adding both fabrication bandwidth and broader capabilities will enable us to support more of the high-profile projects that have built the business.”
Axos' clients include many of New York City’s flagship retail and hospitality venues. Its portfolio of local projects includes the Kith Ivy members-only wellness and padel club, Aime Leon Dore and Avra Hudson Yards. The firm has also completed commissions outside New York, ranging from Avra Beverly Hills to Casadonna Miami.
