The retailer will allow five customers for every 1,000 square feet of shopping space.

According to a report from Business Insider, Walmart will start limiting the number of customers allowed in its stores.

The measures, which will limit stores to five customers per 1,000 square feet of shopping space, will be used to reinforce safe social distancing practices.

These restrictions will keep the stores at roughly 20% of their normal operating capacity. Walmart employees will be stationed at store entrances and exits to count customers and enforce the limits.

Walmart has designated a single entrance and a single exit for each of its stores. Once capacity is hit, customers will be admitted on a one-out, one-in basis.
