Aker Technology (Pembroke Pines, Florida), a manufacturer of frequency control products, recently introduced new automotive-grade versions of the TX21 Auto TCXO (2016) Clipped Sine Wave Series and the S16 Auto XO (1612) certified to the AEC-Q200 standard.
Reliable timing devices are becoming increasingly necessary for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), autonomous driving, in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems, and other connected solutions. These automotive-grade crystals provide stable performance, low phase noise, and precise frequency accuracy that are essential for these electronic systems.
Designed based on automotive specifications to ensure products meet the strict AEC-Q200 standards and requirements of the automotive industry, both the TX21 Auto and the S16 Auto come in ultra-miniature packaging: TX21 Auto (2.0 mm x 1.6 mm), S16 Auto (1.6 mm x 1.2 mm) for optimized space-constrained, high-density PCB designs.
In order to withstand harsh automotive conditions, the TX21 Auto has an extended operating temperature range from -40°C to +105°C, and the S16 Auto a range from -40°C to +125°C. Both the TX21 Auto and the S16 Auto offer multiple voltage options common in automotive applications, including 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V and 1.68~3.63V.
Typical automotive applications for crystal oscillators include:
- High-Precision Positioning and Navigation
- Wireless Communication Module
- Control Module/Sensor Hub
- ADAS Navigation
- In-Vehicle High-Speed Data Transmission
- Digital Instrument Cluster
- In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) System
- Digital Car Key/NFC Communication/UWB
- T-BOX/Telematics
- TPMS/Wireless Sensor Module
- Camera Module/Front & Rear Cameras
