Citroën is partner of the international finals of the Rip Curl GromSearch, held near Hossegor, France from November 4 to 8, depending on surf conditions. This global surfing event marks the return of Citroën’s collaboration with Rip Curl. The partnership is rooted in shared values such as innovation, style, and a passion for adventure and the great outdoors.

Mathieu Lefin, President of Rip Curl Europe, said, "We are extremely delighted to renew our partnership with Citroën, a collaboration that began in 2015 and has given rise to numerous inspiring projects. We will be rolling out several joint projects and activations during this event. But above all, we are proud to be collaborating on the Ami Buggy Rip Curl Vision concept car, designing it to be the dream car for young surfers. This project allows us to highlight our recycling processes for used wetsuits, emphasizing the shared commitment of our two brands to sustainability and innovation in the service of freedom and adventure."

Throughout the competition week, Citroën will provide a fleet of vehicles for participant transfers and offer test drives of Ami and Ami Buggy. This model is particularly suited to an event targeting youth under 16, as it is accessible from age 14 without a driver’s license and offers gentle electric mobility.

To mark the competition, Citroën will reveal a new edition of its concept car, designed specifically for the occasion: Ami Buggy Rip Curl Vision. It embodies all the attributes of an adventurer focused on escape and leisure, enhanced by distinctive colors, materials, and clever features tailored to surfers’ needs. The Ami Buggy Rip Curl Vision concept car will be showcased during the opening and closing ceremonies and throughout the competition.

The partnership began in 2016 with a special edition C4 Cactus, followed by C4 Picasso, SpaceTourer et C3 Aircross in 2018, and Berlingo in 2021.  This collaboration celebrates a lifestyle focused on adventure, well-being and meaningful innovation. Each brand offers experiences and products which combined design, technical expertise and spirit of escape.

Xavier Chardon, CEO Citroën, said, "I am delighted to renew the partnership between Citroën and Rip Curl, two brands that develop stylish, technical products designed to promote well-being, leisure, and escape. Together, we share the same vision focused on adventure, style, and freedom, designed for younger generations. Ami Buggy Rip Curl Vision embodies the free spirit and creativity that unite the two brands. With this concept, we are reaffirming our commitment to making electric mobility accessible, starting with micro-mobility, accessible from the age of 14 and geared towards leisure."

Citroën Ami Buggy now takes on a fresh identity. Ami Buggy Rip Curl Vision is the result of a shared vision between two brands that place user experience at the heart of design.

The design retains the Buggy DNA while integrating surf-inspired elements like:

  • Purple body color that contrasts with a white sunroof, black canvas and black spoiler.
  • White stickers on the rear quarter window.
  • White headlights and a white LED bar on the roof for optimal visibility.
  • Eco-designed interior with cushioned seat pads printed with Rip Curl-inspired motifs.
  • Purple dashboard storage bins.

Ami Buggy Rip Curl Vision includes practical and innovative accessories such as:

  • Floor mats made from recycled surf wetsuits, water-resistant and easy to clean.

  • Waterproof bag for wet gear.
  • Banana pouch attachable to the steering wheel, a new storage for the car and daily use.
  • Foldable, waterproof passenger-side storage bin.
