After years of building fanfare, GM has announced it will begin delivering the new electric Hummer pickup truck in December.
Classified as a heavy-duty pickup, the Hummer Edition 1 will start at $112,595.
According to GM’s Duncan Alred, this is the fastest GM has gone “from idea/inception to engineering it and delivering it into the hands of the customer."
The new Hummer will reportedly feature a 329-mile range and be capable of towing 7,500 lbs.
It is the first GM vehicle built on the automaker’s Ultium battery platform.
An SUV version, along with other, less-expensive pickup trims, will be available in 2022 and 2023.
The Hummer Edition 1 pickup weighs a whopping 9,046 lbs., or 4.5 tons.
According to Automotive News, that’s more than twice the size of the base version of the GMC Sierra.
